Will decided not to sleep much Wednesday night, just half asleep fussed all night and kept us up. I figured out Thursday he'll only sleep when someone is holding him when he does that, so I took him to bed with us tonight and we all got a couple hours good sleep before the first feeding time. He's been running a very low-grade temp from the vaccines still, just enough to make him cranky and damage his appetite a bit so it's been a challenge getting him to eat enough.
I took him to his first appointment with his new doctor (who is also my doctor, so I know I can trust her, and a former NICU nurse) Thursday morning. Little chunk is up to 6 lb 14 !! oz. He somehow managed to gain almost 10 oz in 3 days, either that or their scales are really different. Not much else going on, very tired. He was on every 4 hours feeding at the hospital but they switched him to on demand in the last few days and he's put himself on about every 3 hours. So I feed him, pump and get about 1 1/2 hours before time to start over again, doesn't make much sleep especially when you factor in time prepping bottles, putting milk away, getting back to sleep etc. Not a ton less sleep than I was getting just pumping, but at least with only pumping I could choose to skip one and get 6 hours sleep in a row. Justin is showing more interest in learning how to help take care of Will though, which is great - he did a diaper change and most of a bottle tonight. Will isn't easy to feed, a lot of things that work with term babies just make him angry then he holds his breath or gets over stimulated and upset. So it's definitely a learning experience but we'll get there.
