August 25

Another great day today. Will is up to 5 lb 8 oz, 5 1/2 lbs! I had to drive Justin to work this morning so spent the whole day at the hospital. I gave Will his 8 AM bottle, then at 11 gave him a bath and another bottle, and at 2 half a bottle (the rest was gavaged). So he did excellent on feeds. He has a bit of a diaper rash though, and a red area with some greyish pigment around it which the doc is going to look at. The nurse thought it might be something fungal. I put him in a darling outfit his Nana got for him today which already just fits, not much longer and it'll be too small for him!

I noticed I hadn't sent a picture out of all his machinery, so here's one. That big hanging thing on the right with all kinds of outlets is where everything attaches. The red hose and canister on the right is his suction to clean out his nose/mouth. The yellow hose is air, the green hose which appears black in that picture is oxygen, and the grey box with a knob it's attached to controls the percentage. The hanging water bottle moisturizes the oxygen and controls the rate of flow. The TV screen up above displays his stats and alarms. The top is heart rate, middle is oxygen saturation and bottom is respiration. Then his crib, attached to the right front is his thermometer, middle right is his gavage feeder (grey), and left he has hand sanitizer in front and my pump sitting next to the crib. Exciting stuff I know, but I thought some of you might find it interesting.
