September 2

Will had another great day, mostly. He's feeding very well, taking at least the full volume and waking up to show us he's hungry in time for mos tfeeding times, and often taking more than the full required volume. He gained an ounce, bringing him up to 6 lb 1 oz. My mother and sister came over to visit from Seattle and arrived late in the evening of the 1st, wewent out and got Will some newborn size clothes since he's starting to outgrow the smaller preemie stuff, though the actual size of preemie clothes is variable and a couple items are still a bit big on him. Other than preemies we have clothes in 0-3 months since we were told to expect him to be born big, doc thought he'd be over 8 lbs (hahaha we showed her right?) so those are way too big for him. Now he has some nice basic onesies and things in newborn size.
The not-so-great news for today is that he's had a couple problem rounds with periodic breathing, where he doesn't breathe with a good rhythm and pauses. It's not exactly apnea but it is a concern. He gets oxygen desaturation episodes when he does that. The doctor decided it's because he's missing the caffiene which he was given to control apnea, so restarted caffiene after we left this evening when he had another periodic breathing spell. As long as he responds well to the caffiene and cuts it out with the periodic breathing he can still come home on time. We're scheduled to room-in on Tuesday and he should be home on Wednesday.
