Will got moved to a new bed today! He made the minimum weight requirement (he's just a hair shy of 4 lb 3 oz) for an open air crib, now it's just a test if he can maintain his body temperature. The lactation specialist came to visit with us and helped me on positioning and getting him to latch, but decided he isn't ready yet to feed so we can continue practice breastfeeding after pumping out until he is a little older and we'll try again in a week or so. He was a bit cranky this morning so I didn't get to hold him as long as usual - he started getting oxygen desaturation spells so I put him back into his crib to rest and he did better for the evening session. It looks like he's smothering in the photo but he's not, he has a support ring nest thing that hides his face from that angle.
