April 1

Will is 9 months old today! Can you believe we've come that far already? He had his first graham cracker last night, which he seemed pretty pleased with. He actually seemed to like that better than his teething biscuits and definitely liked it better than trying to be fed baby food. He ate the whole thing until there was one little piece left I took away so he wouldn't choke on it. Gagged a little a couple times, he's still learning how to manipulate food in his mouth, but kept trying. Doctor thinks he may catch on to eating when he's able to feed himself, that some kids just want to do it themselves, and I think she may be right after how he inhaled that graham cracker and looked so proud of himself.
He's enjoying his new car piano thing we got him and the musical Tad (frog) that mom sent him for Christmas - he's really getting into pushing buttons this week. The breathable bumper I ordered finally arrived and I installed that yesterday -woohoo no little arms and legs got stuck in the crib last night and everyone slept a tiny bit better. He's started waking up a couple times per night to eat again, but I know he's hungry and not just comfort eating because he eats a full bottle and goes right back to sleep. Still trying to teach him to do his eating during the day but having limited success.
Enjoying the new van. I got a steering wheel cover and some floor mats for it, and bought myself a new pair of jeans. Yay the skinny jeans I saved are too big now, and I was able to buy something in the MRS department! I've lost about 35 lbs now, still another 70 or so to go but making a good dent in it and starting to feel a little better about it. My birthday today too. No huge plans, I think we're going out for dinner with Justin's sister and her fiance. I'm feeling a lot better so I think whatever was wrong with me is healing on its own. The major pain attack I had the doc agreed I probably passed a bile stone, but he thinks it passed completely on its own and the lingering pain was something else, probably a recurrence of the infection I had. Who knows. It's just about gone now, thankfully. Still going for the CT scan tomorrow since according to the one I had a couple months ago I was supposed to have a follow up one in 6-8 weeks anyway and it's been 8 weeks, to make sure the enlarged lymph nodes are gone and nothing else of interest shows up. So birthday dessert is a big bottle of barium, yum yum (gag me with a spoon).
